September 2014: The OCWHP is pleased to announce that Blue Shield of California Foundation has generously awarded a $1.9 million grant to support the establishment of a countywide, integrated and collaborative Health & Domestic Violence System (HDV SIP) in Orange County over the next four years. The OCWHP will re-grant a majority of the funds to other organizations to implement a set of strategies recommended during the HDV planning process (see below), coordinate the implementation activities, and evaluate the collective impact of the effort.
March 31, 2014: Thanks to the extraordinary commitment of the Orange County Health & Domestic Violence Task Force, the OCWHP has completed a six-month planning project, funded by Blue Shield of California Foundation, that established a vision for a county-wide, integrated, and collaborative Health & Domestic Violence System in Orange County. During this planning project, the OCWHP engaged key stakeholders; conducted a needs assessment that identified significant gaps between the healthcare sector and the social, shelter and legal services that support Domestic Violence victims and their families; reviewed the literature and best practices; and recommended four strategies that will, if funded and implemented, collectively realize this vision.
